Episode 49: Mott The Hoople / All The Young Dudes

Probably not even remotely spooky this episode features a song given to this group from one of rocks iconic figures. The Blob just likes this album, and since he is in the rocktober mood he thought he might try something odd and light. More of a harvest style rather than the spooky halloween genre the month is becoming noted for. So here, for your listening pleasure is "All the Young Dudes"

Episode 48: Little Shop Of Horrors / Soundtrack

Coming at you again from the land of soundtracks is a great flick that covered a lot of ground and had and original score that was both contemporary and old school. The Blob says he isn't really a fan of musicals but he liked this story so he could compromise his morals on this occasion. Apparently all it takes is for a plant to enjoy the taste of people and the Blobs all in. We here at Vinyl Rhetoric hope you are getting into the spirit of the season and wish you safe passage.

Episode 47: Krokus / Metal Rendezvous

This selection from the Blob comes to you courtesy of Rocktober. Although the Blob does not remeber much of the eighties he does remember this band from Switzerland for some reason. He says that it inspired him to stay home more and listen to music. What and inspiration to us all. Me thinks the Blob might be demented or just crazy. You decide. And when you do post it to the Facebook page. You can help determine if he gets the help he needs. Rock on!!!

Episode 46: Fright Night / Soundtrack

Keeping with the theme of Halloween and the scary we decided to go with a classic soundtrack. Not only was the soundtrack good the movie was of a decent caliber. After you giv this a listen, return to the one eyed monster and give the movie another view. I think you will be set. Please have fun and be safe this month.

Episode 45: Blue October / Foiled

Nope its no typo, The Blob agreed that if the first side intrigued him enough with demented lyrics and music he would play side 2 on the next episode. Well, it certainly met the criteria for creepy lyrics. In the end I think you will find it interesting and unique. Listen with focus and clarity and you may find you hear something different. The Blob enjoyed it. He hopes you do as well

Episode 44: Blue October / Foiled

As we begin the month of harvest we thought playing some dark stuff might be worth a listen. Kingcow suggested and chose a unique album that has lyrics that have demented bent to them. It is clearly a dark piece done exceptionally well. For the sake of clarity let me say that one track was used in the movie Saw. Give this a listen and letme know what you think.

Episode 43: Black Sabbath / We Sold our Soul for Rock 'N Roll

We thought transitioning into October with Black Sabbath would be appropriate. This is the harvest season and the scary season. So selling your soul is in line with the goulish and macabe. Of the bands discography listing you will not find this album. All tracks appear on other albums. But for this release the band was unaware and profited naught. Lets begin Rocktober with some darkness. Enjoy  

Episode 42: Cyndi Lauper / She's so Unusual

With a career that spans some 40 years, the debut album by Cyndi Lauper was a smash. The first female debut album to chart four top five singles is remarkable. Selling more than 50 million albums and and 20 million singles this Grammy, Tony, and Emmy winning singer-songwriter is a joy to see live and sets a standard in music that people chase today. Please put your hands together and enjoy the music, and maybe the rhetoric.

Episode 41: Commodores / Greatest Hits

For your pleasure today comes the Commodores. This is a Blob selection that may leave you wondering if he has hit his head or something. Not the case literally but with the recognition of the female persuation at this time in his life left him open to love, and the accompanying songs of the generation. Making it big after the addition of Lionel Ritchie and opening for the Jackson 5 this greatest hits displayes some of their best and most popular songs from funk to the love ballad. Hope you enjoy the music as much as the Blob does. If not for the music then the memories of coming of age.

Episode 40: Eddie Money / Eddie Money

Today Vinyl Rhetoric brings you the self titled album Eddie Money. This singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist features strong vocals and catchy rythyms. A transplant from Long Island to San Francisco,  Eddie Money soon began his career singing in clubs throughout the bay area. Hit songs like "Shakin", "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise" would vault him to the top of the charts. We hope you enjoy this talented and fiery debut album from a real talent.
