1hr 28 min
Being the season of thanksgiving we thought about food, specifically turkey. What better way to enjoy turkey dinner than to play a real turkey of an album. Kingcow chose the trucker oriented C.W. McCall greatest hits. Although a former trucker, the Blob takes no umbrage with the choice as he thought the album was funny odd. Give us your thoughts or just get through it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

So the Blob wanted to share some high energy rock. In doing so he chose former Scorpions and UFO guitarist Michael Schenker. Formed in 1979 this album showcased the melodic hard rock sound. Many will recognize the progressive undertones that gave it that edge. Funny anecdote, our son came home from college for a few days and this album was out in the room he was staying in. I asked him how he slept. He said the album cover was fairly creepy at 4 am. Please enjoy this offering.

From the land down under we supply you the album Working Class Dog from Rick Springfield. Yes Rick is Australian, but dont hold that against him as most of the US didn't as he was already a heart-throb having been in numerous TV shows in the late 70's. The 1981 release of Working class Dog saw him also working a day job on the soap opera General Hospital. Nevertheless this album cemented his status as a rocker that could also act. Just have fun with it, they did.

Today we bring you Curtis Mayfield. This singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer was highly influential in the civil rights movement of the 50's, 60's. His more prevelant themes of social awareness became clear in his lyrics as he continued writing. The Blob recalls hearing the soundtrack to Super Fly. This was one of his favorites at a young age. We hope you enjoy this incredibly soulful release by this legendary artist. Be smooth.

This is the all time leading album in sales having sold 66 million copies. This 1982 release was the sixth studio album from the King of Pop. Kingcow was all over this album, the Blob not so much. But that doesn't mean it was not considered the greatest musical release. It was. And the video release was pivitol in cementing that position. Happy Halloween everybody.

So its definetely true that the Blob has a penchant for the blues. This episode focuses on an experimental lineup that wanted to create a softer sound in the environment of blues. This lower volume without the heavy lead guitar and loud drums was what John Mayall was after. The Blob really likes this album and he hopes you do as well.

Our request today comes from one of our listeners Amanda. HI AMANDA! She suggested this Scotish synthpop band from Glasgow. I can say that this genre falls right into Kingcows wheelhouse. Unlike him the Blob was less than enthusiastic. It does provide some bright and unique music that is sure to please and some rhetoric you should find amusing. Give it a listen and enjoy the sounds from the land of the highlands.

Hey all you rhetorititions out there. Today we are changing it up a bit. Kingcow has a future episode that he hoped I would exchange for doing this weeks show. How could I not oblige? So.... since I get to choose again I figured it might be nice to go with one of rocks biggest acts Led Zepplin. As we continue rocktoberfest we are going to here some very experimental stuff and go with Presence. Hope you all enjoy the harvest!
